This Is My Life – Introducing a Video Series from People First of Ontario

People First of Ontario (PFO) has developed a great new resource in the form of a video series called This Is My Life. The videos are part of a project called Our Community Our Lives: Strengthening Communities through Active Living and Social Inclusion.

The messages in the videos are around the issues of community, education, employment, and legal capacity for people with disabilities. During this week (April 11-17), People First of Ontario is asking People First chapters and other community organizations to show these videos at events, or at meetings, or within community groups, or any other type of gathering.

There are 14 videos in total, featuring People First of Ontario members talking about their lives and the issues that are important to them – like having a home, a job, a relationship, friends, and the importance of advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities.

We encourage you to watch the videos and see how people who have an intellectual disability are creating lives they love. Please share the videos with your friends, and your groups and organizations and help spread the message of inclusion.
